If you ever plan to visit Italy, you must not forget to visit the nearby Italian sweet bakery which has endless varieties of sweets to fulfill your cravings. Quick Apple Pie


For the preparation Pie Crust

1. Flour: 2 cups

2. Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup

3. Softened butter: 1/2 cup

4. Baking powder: 1 1/2 teaspoons

5. Egg: 1 large 

6. Egg yolk: 1 large 

For the preparation Apple Filling

1. Cleaned and chopped Apples: 3

2. Cinnamon: 2 teaspoons

3. Butter: 1/3 cup

4. Brown sugar: 1/2 cup

5. Cornstarch: 1 1/2 teaspoons


1. Preheat the oven to 350F.

2. Grease the pie plate with butter and sprinkle flour evenly.

For preparing Pie Crust:

1. In a medium bowl add flour, sugar, and baking powder.

2. Add softened butter along with egg and egg yolk to the above mixture. Mix them with a fork.

3. If the dough looks extra wet, add extra flour.

4. Flour the workspace lightly and work the dough together to make it soft and fluffy.

5. Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

6. Take out of the fridge and knead for some time to soften it.

7. Divide the dough into two equal parts and start rolling them into 2 circles.

8. Fit the pie plate with the first dough.

For preparing Apple Filling:

1. In a medium-sized pot, melt the butter on low heat and then add brown sugar, apple, and cinnamon.

2. Stir the mixture and let it cook for approximately 3-5 minutes until it becomes a little thick. Turn the flame off.

3. Pour the filling on the pie crust and cover with second pie dough.

4. Bake for 30 minutes. Check after 20 minutes to see if the crust is not browning too much.

1. Flour: 1 1/2 cups

2. Sugar: 2 tablespoon

3. Salt: 1/2 tablespoon

7. Egg Yolks: 3 large

8. Cornstarch: 2 tablespoon

9. Milk: 1 cup

14. Blackberries: 2 cup

15. Confectioners sugar: 2 cup


For preparing Tart

1. Take flour, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl and stir well.

2. Sprinkle 4 tablespoons cold water into the flour mixture and mix with a fork until the dough is just moist enough to hold together.

3. Give a disc shape to the dough and wrap with plastic to refrigerate for 30 minutes.

For preparing Pastry cream

1. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until blended.

2. Take a saucepan to heat milk over medium heat.

3. Pour half of the simmering milk into the yolk mixture.

4. Turn the flame low and return the yolk mixture to the saucepan and cook until Pastry Cream thickens and boils(boil for 1 minute).

5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir it in butter and vanilla extract.

6. Transfer the pastry cream into a bowl and plastic wrap it for refrigeration for 2 hours.

7. Preheat the oven to 425F.

8. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 14-inch circle.

9. Press dough onto the bottom and up the side of 11″ by 1″ tart pan with removable bottom.

10. Fold overhang inwards and press against the sides of the tart pan to form a rim.

11. Prick the dough with a fork to prevent puffing and shrinking during baking.

12.  Bake the tart for 20 minutes until golden.

13. Let it cool.

14. Beat the cream until stiff peaks form.

15. Whisk pastry cream until smooth

16. Fill the tart with the mixture of pastry cream.

17. Top it with berries and sprinkle some confectioner’s sugar.
